What is an Arangetram?

A Bharatanatyam Arangetram is often referred to as the dancer’s debut on stage, and is a significant milestone in the life of a Bharatnatyam dancer. This event marks the culmination of years of training and dedication. The term Arangetram can translate to “ascending the stage”. For the dancer, the Arangetram is a moment of pride and joy, showing their mastery of intricate rhythms, storytelling, adn graceful movements. It is also an opportunity to honor their acharya (teacher), and showcase their deep connection to their culture. Learn more in the About page.
